Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation

An Osteopathic Approach to Recovery

As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), Dr. Apramian evaluates how the body’s structure and function work together. A comprehensive anatomical and functional assessment considers posture, joint mobility, strength, movement patterns, and previous injuries—exploring how a new pain or injury may relate to longstanding conditions or compensations elsewhere in the body.

This whole-person perspective brings those findings together with your medical history, sleep, nutrition, recovery habits, and the demands of your sport or daily life. Your plan addresses current symptoms and contributing factors, with targeted exercise, appropriate adjunctive treatments, and practical changes to how you move and recover. The goal extends beyond immediate relief: to build capacity, support lasting function, and reduce the risk of recurrence. Progress is guided by changes in symptoms, movement, and tolerance for activity.

Your rehabilitation is led and performed by Dr. Apramian. From assessment through treatment and follow-up, you work directly with the physician who knows your history, progress, and goals.

Personalized Rehabilitation

Dr. Apramian develops and guides your plan for mobility, strength, and return to activity, adjusting exercise and treatment to your symptoms, function, and progress.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Delivers sound-wave energy to deeper tissues. Depending on the settings, it can gently warm soft tissue and may help ease pain and improve flexibility in selected conditions. It complements movement-based rehabilitation, with treatment guided by your assessment and response.

Photobiomodulation

Delivers targeted infrared and near-infrared light to influence cellular processes involved in inflammation and tissue repair to enhance the body's intrinsic healing. It may also help reduce musculoskeletal pain in selected conditions, making rehabilitation exercises and daily movement more comfortable. Benefits vary with the condition, treatment settings, and individual response.

Electrical Stimulation

Uses controlled electrical impulses delivered through skin electrodes to stimulate nerves and may provide temporary pain relief. Dr. Apramian tailors the settings to your needs and comfort, using treatment as an adjunct to your rehabilitation plan.

Cortisone Injections

Targeted corticosteroid injections may reduce inflammation, pain, and stiffness in selected joint and soft tissue conditions. Dr. Apramian assesses whether an injection is appropriate and personally performs the treatment, with the goal of making movement and rehabilitation more comfortable. Benefits and duration of relief vary; injections complement a plan that addresses contributing factors and supports lasting function.

Blood Work & Recovery Monitoring

Dr. Apramian selects and interprets blood work to assess internal health during recovery, including kidney and liver function, blood counts, metabolic markers, and thyroid or other hormone levels when clinically indicated. Results are considered alongside your symptoms, medications, nutrition, training demands, and progress to identify concerns that may affect recovery and guide appropriate follow-up. Testing and repeat measurements are tailored to your individual needs.

Your plan begins with an individualized assessment.

Treatment selection and progression reflect your clinical needs and response.

Please, Take Care.
